Day 1 of 184: 1st of July 2017

Dear readers,

This morning I have shaved off my hair, as I said I would.
It's been 12 hours now, and I haven't gotten used to the feeling (cold, stubby) and the looks of it.
When I saw my reflection, I had to look twice. Besides, bald doesn't suit me, which I already knew...

And as promised, picture evidence:
Below you can see me before shaving, after shaving my hair, and after shaving my beard as well.
The piucture of the hair is all the hair I shaved off, it was quite a lot, but the beard not so much :(










I had a busy saturday, and everybody I knew who spoke me asked why my hair looked "like that"
So, of course, I shared the story. People seem to understand and appreciate such an effort.'
So much even, that a friend of mine send me a message today, saying he will donate €50!
WOW! Even before I could write this blog post this evening, I have a donation.


He also notified me of one problem with the fundraiser: You need a credit card.
So, I decided to solve this immediately:
I have made a separate savings goal on my bank account, so I can store all the money gotten from donations there, without it being mixed up with my private money.

I will try to get the links to everywhere pinned somewhere and to make the blog look better.
But that will be for another day.

Hey all, I'm very sorry, I haven't gotten around to finishing everything up yet. I am way, way more tired than I thought, from new year's eve, and a hectic week before and after. Day 10 of 184: 10th of July 2017

Dear readers, I promised a blog post at lesat once a week and it's been 9 days. I am very sorry. I thought to write it Thursday, but ran out of time, and I had a very busy weekend. But, here I am again, with a new blog post and some great news! The donations have passed €75 already! I have had some friends donating, and some teachers, as I spoke about it at my certificate ceremony. And, with more pictures, you can find them all at the bottom. 10th July, with a Ring-Tailed Lemur But this one is very special, it's taken today by one of my fellow volunteers at the zoo. He is also the photographer on the zoo, and he just happened to be there when I finished my shift. I wanted to get a selfie with a lemur for my blog, so he helped me. Day 168 of 184: 15th of December 2017: Conclusions and resolutions

Dear readers, The year is nearing it's end, and so is my project. I have not been up to much the last month, as I first had to take 3 weeks of antibiotics for a heavy infection, and then (which is now) became ill, as my immune system was weakened. But, my appartement is looking nicer every few days, as I, with help, get more and more things organised and where I want them. My hair, especially the facial hair, is more a burden than anything. I might continue to grow my hair, up to donation length, but I don't count on it. This, because my hair had grown about 3-4 centimetres in the first 2 months, but only another 3 centimetres in the last 3,5 months. So my hair is currently about 6 centimetres, which is nowhere near enough for donation. Thus, growing it to proper lengths takes a year or two, and maybe I will never reach that, per genetics. I have had my hair 'really long' in my puberty, I found some pics in my google photos, and it looked ridiculous, as it be...
